Welcome to the autumn issue of The Rocks Experience.

Each of us has turning points in our lives, times where the decisions we make, whether we realise it at the time or not, will take us in a totally new direction. Some are really obvious; changing jobs, having a child or moving overseas but sometimes something as innocuous as taking up a new
hobby or becoming a volunteer can transform our lives forever.

In this issue we talk to three of The Rocks’ well-known personalities who have embraced the opportunities created through major change in their lives. Their stories are inspiring and a reminder of the truth that you can’t stop change, but you can control how you respond to it.

The Rocks itself is experiencing a period of great change and transformation; one of many in its long evolution. The Rocks has always been known for its beautiful sandstone heritage buildings and winding laneways; but today it is also becoming known for its burgeoning community of residents and creative businesses of advertising agencies, theatre companies, architectural ?rms and interior designers.

With these have come many new cafes, bars, restaurants and shops that are creating a unique and contemporary look and feel for this ‘grand dame’ of Sydney.
