Fortune of War Hotel is expanding
During the 6-month renovation, Sydnes’s oldest pub has opened Fortune of War Lock Up at 127 George Street to relocate their Bistro. This new venue holds their history and their reputation with a fascinating combination of who we they are now after 196 years of operation.Fortune of War Lock up is the perfect spot for a casual lunch or a fun night out, but visitors to 127 didn’t always have such a good time. In the late 1800s this building was a police station in the infamous Little Canton Area. The dining rooms, kitchens and cocktail nooks may look like a place to have a great time now but they were once holding cells, change rooms, muster rooms and police offices!
Hearty pub fare is served daily from 11:30 am, with a different selection of wines, beers and cocktails for a perfect day out.
Don’t worry, Fortune of War Hotel is still open for more delicious eats and refreshing beverages 30m down the road!
