The Southern Promenade is a paved area in front of Circular Quay train station, providing pedestrian access along Circular Quay and to ferry wharves.
Activation space is limited due to busking and general public use however a small space is at times available between Wharves 4 and 5.

In addition to general standards/criteria, the proposed event must:
- Adhere to a height clearance of 3.8m
- Adhere to maximum weight loading restrictions of 2 tonne gross
- Restrict activation space to 3 metres from the train station, leaving 5 metres clear for pedestrians
- Maintain a 4 metre clearance for pedestrian thoroughfare and for emergency vehicle access
