Data Dreams: Art and AI

Data Dreams: Contemporary Art in the Age of AI examines the intersections between art and artificial intelligence.

This exhibition is the first of its kind in a major Australian museum and is presented as part of the Sydney International Art Series 2025–26.

Featuring works by leading contemporary artists from around the world, Data Dreams: Contemporary Art in the Age of AI throws light on how artists are engaging with Artificial Intelligence to imagine new ways of being and to explore the implications that these technologies hold for our collective future.

Data Dreams brings into focus a range of contemporary concerns, including the relationships between technology and power; how algorithms and datasets are influencing our worldviews and calling our perception of reality into question; and the immense environmental costs of the data economy.
