NAIDOC Week - Giba-Nura: Aboriginal Cultural Tour

Step into Giba-Nura (Rock Country) and discover the rich Aboriginal history of Sydney’s harbour from a Gadigal perspective.

This immersive walking tour explores first contact, Aboriginal resistance, colonisation and their lasting impacts on the Gadigal people. Hear about traditional Gadigal life, including bush tucker, ceremony, language, place names and Aboriginal Astronomy, while uncovering the stories of influential figures such as Bennelong, Barangaroo, Patyegarang and Pemulwuy.

Travelling through iconic sites around The Rocks, engage with local histories, cultural knowledge and archaeological evidence, gaining a deeper understanding of Aboriginal identity and experiences. The program culminates at the Rocks Discovery Museum, where you can enjoy a hands-on opportunity to examine Aboriginal artefacts and learn about their significance and use.
