The day begins with Dawn Reflection at sunrise, then from 10am The Rocks Markets burst into life with stalls of local fashion, jewellery, crafts and irresistible eats from around the globe. Next, the Midday Salute fills the harbour with military and cultural displays, followed by the Ferrython, Harbour Parade and Tall Ships Race.

The afternoon brings the Working Harbour Vessel Display and the historic Australia Day Regatta, rounding out a vibrant celebration of community, culture and national pride at The Rocks.

Dawn Reflection

Let the first kiss of sunlight on Sydney Harbour guide you to a moment of reflection on Gadigal land. As dawn breaks, witness the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House transformed into a breathtaking canvas of respect and remembrance, honoring the ancient stories and enduring spirit of Aboriginal Australia. Gather on the shores, be moved by the powerful artwork, and join us in celebrating Aboriginal history, culture, and people.

During the Dawn Reflection, the Australian National Flag and Australian Aboriginal Flag will be raised in unison on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, a powerful symbol of unity, recognition, and inclusion.

The Rocks Markets, 10am-5pm

In the heart of The Rocks, you'll find an open air market brimming with local fashion, jewellery and crafts; and tasty eats celebrating Australia's diversity with food.

Expect authentic pizzas, delicious paella, handmade chocolate, sweet crepes and more all within arm’s reach, and while you’re there, enjoy free live music.

Australia Day Ferrython

The iconic Ferrython returns this Australia Day, marking one of the most anticipated events on Sydney Harbour. Four ferries will race from under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, navigating two thrilling laps around Fort Denison before heading towards the finish line at the Sydney Opera House.
